It was roughly about 6:45 in the morning when I woke up. I thought about last night when I told Alyssa my fantastic but hilarious idea, for the morning; " I'll put the dogs on your face. Won't that be humorous?!" She said, "No it won't and you better not do that!" So like all good friends, I did exactly that. "Oh my gosh, Jessie, Bella what are you doing!" I said. It was comical! "Ah!" Screamed Alyssa. " Get off me! Bad dogs, bad dogs!" I was laughing my head off as they were licking her to death. Alyssa said it was ridiculous for me to do that. And I said it was a ridiculous for her to trust me not to do that. But then to quieten Alyssa...... "Bella!" I said. "Get off Alyssa's face!"

Our new baby Chicks!
In my class room, we got 3 baby chicks for us to have and raise in the class! It is so cool raising them! The only thing is its a huge responsibility. The temperature has to be a certain degree, we have to check their bottoms so that they do not die because if there is anything stuck to their bottoms, it can stop them from going to the toilet and then that may kill them. We also have separate juties to feed, water, clean their box and them. It is hard, but I still enjoy it. We have all agreed on names for them as well. There is; Bushy ( the one that falls asleep on your hand and is very calm), Crazy ( the one that is a bit crazy so he runs away from your hand and attempts to fly a little bit) and there is Phsyco ( the one that is absolutely mad, he is the tallest and oldest an he always trys to fly when you hold him and if you put him in the ground he goes crazy and runs every where. They are only about 3 weeks old, yello and brown and are so cute! On my next post I will put up pics of all of them. Thanks for listening!

What to do after school
Most of you go home after school and tell your parents that your bored. Well I'm going to help you with that problem. First of all, don't annoy your parents by telling them your bored. They need their rest from a hard days of work. So here are some things I like to do after school; go outside and enjoy the nice weather, play a game, invite a friend over, go to the park or if you have a device play on that but not for to long. Hopefully this will help you with your boredom problem.

My poem
Today I had a rotten shoe
Today I had a rotten shoe as I went to the loo
It was horrible! Horrendous! A disgusting sight!
I think I should throw it away. I might!
But why? Why was it wrong?
Why did people say ‘ Hey you! You pong!
There was nothing wrong with it - I thought.
So, that was a great lesson I was taught!

Doing our class speeches
Our Speeches
Presenting our speeches was very interesting to see other peoples ideas of what a speech would be about . My speech was about world hunger but then there was a speech about toilets. That was an example of how different people think in different ways. I found it quite easy to write my speech because I really feel for hungry children. We wrote our speeches because there is an inter school speech competition on and there are gonna be one year 7 or 8 and one year 5 or 6 . The teachers and Jane judged us and the winners were: Mayur and he is a year 7 and then the year 5 winner is Hannah J. I wanted to win, but at least I tried and had a go. I felt confident that I had shared my message with others. Bird box making
Working with Ged.
Donna’s LA group went to see Ged in the library to share our designs of bird boxes we would like to make, for our Hingaia whanake. I felt really excited about sharing my ideas with others and seeing their creative ideas as well.
We discussed what type of roof would be best for the design and also, what design would be best for the birds. We thought the best design would probably be a design that is nice and simple for the birds, but they also like certain colours. It was interesting seeing their ideas about what types of roofs and things. We discussed a-lot about how the roof would look like. We are going halfsies so one is going to be a triangle shaped one like this;
or a roof shaped as a horizontal line like this.
Then we decided who would have the triangle shaped roof and the horizontal one.
Tuesday 18th September 2012
Today we started creating our bird boxes. The first thing we did was is got our 6 pieces of wood and sanded them . That took quite a while though . Then we drilled in where the screws are going to go and nailed all the pieces of wood together. After that we drilled the hole where the birds go in and used a mallot to bang in the perches. After that we cut out and then put on all our little details and decorations. At the end Ged and Cole discussed to us that at the end of the term we are all going to take our bird boxes home and paint them and then bring them back next term week six, for ag day.
This is my wildlife report for school
Fantail are wonderful birds.They fly fluently in the breeze, while the sun splays above them with the clouds and the sound of chirping follows.
Fantail are a type of brownish grey colour. They are 16cm long and they have a fan shaped tail, that's why they are called the fantail. They are very talented birds. When they fly it looks like a paper fan is in the sky with a broken core so the feathers are flapping wildly in the breeze. It's unimaginable.
Fantail live in forest edges, parks and gardens. That means they are widespread. You can see them about anywhere but they do have special places where they make their nests.
Fantail lay 5-2 eggs every season. So, everyday the parents have to go out get food for their young ones, Come home put the babies to sleep and feed themselves. That is a lot of work to do in one day.
Fantail have a special diet. They are not like the normal birds that feed on worms. They eat;
Fruit, insects, berries and small food like that.
You would expect fantail to live for more than 4 years right? Well no. They only live up to 3 years! I mean that is a very small life right? imagine if you could only live up to three years! That would be a really small life.
Wow! Who knew that fantail are only 16cm long, they have a small diet, they dont live very long, they have 5-2 eggs every season and they are widspread! So, in conclusion, they are wonderful birds.

School Holidays
Holidays are fantastic. They are days away from school. I fancy school as well as I fancy the holidays. But then, holidays are the time of year when you just get to sit back and relax. Then it actually depends what type of things you do in the holidays. I enjoy seeking out to go on adventures. I really enjoy going on bush walks, I like to pretend that there are monsters in there and that they are coming out to eat me. And then thats the part where my dad makes evil scientist noises. I love the school holidays. Do you?
